2018 - Present

UX/UI Designer
British Broadcasting Corporation 

  • Curated human-centered design solutions to improve the user experience for the BBC’s audiences in upto 12 East African World Service language websites and online platforms. These include BBC Africa English, BBC Afrique (Francophone Africa), BBC Amharic, BBC Afaan Oromoo, BBC Tigrinya, BBC Somali, BBC Swahili, BBC Gahuza (Kinyarwanda and Kirundi), BBC Hausa, BBC Yoruba, BBC Igbo and BBC Pidgin.

  • Designed several microsites that improved storytelling using seamless mobile-first design solutions, increasing page views, scroll rate, and user engagement.

  • Collaborated with global World Service teams from editorial, engineering and business development to define and refine storytelling angles and output into suitable digital formats.

  • Designed numerous information graphics, data visualizations, maps and digital videos that supported narrative storytelling for news output on the multiple BBC language websites.

  • Led the design of  visual identities for BBC Africa brands like Focus on Africa radio, Africa Sport Personality of the Year and Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Ethiopia, DR Congo and Burundi national election visual identities.
